CNGas, which specializes in retail CNG fueling stations and bi-fuel vehicle conversions, and Nopetro, Florida’s leading natural gas fueling infrastructure provider, have signed a strategic alliance to expand CNG fueling facilities throughout the county.

CNGas is proud to announce the grand opening of its new CNG facility, located in northern Miami-Dade County at 19499 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL. The facility is open to the public and it is one of the most advanced in South Florida, representing the initial phase of CNGas’s commitment to expand to a network of CNG stations throughout South Florida.

The fast fill CNG facility is 30,000 square feet in size, and capable of fueling four vehicles simultaneously. With proven expertise in developing successful CNG fueling infrastructure projects, Nopetro will support CNGas by contributing its CNG fuel marketing and operational expertise, and proven strategies to help grow third party sales at the stations. CNGas will provide bi-fuel and hybrid CNG vehicle conversions of existing commercial fleets for both companies.

The new state-of-the art station is a major step for Miami-Dade County’s fledgling CNG industry, creating a facility that can support the fueling needs of a broad range of CNG vehicles and a network that will develop the natural gas ecosystem in South Florida.

CNGas’s primary market is composed of private companies with small and medium size commercial fleets, companies with pick-up trucks, cargo vans and similarly sized vehicles, and individual vehicles, while Nopetro primarily focuses on large heavy-duty fleets, and forming public-private partnerships with government entities. Together, the network will be able to offer solutions for the entire commercial vehicle community in South Florida.

“We are extremely proud to bring this first-of-its-kind facility to Miami-Dade,” said CNGas COO Humberto Puppo. “I have no doubt that this station will be a key step towards furthering the volume of CNG vehicles in our County.”

CNGas specializes in the design, building, maintenance and operation of alternative fueling stations, providing a complete solution for the CNG industry, including vehicle conversions, sales of compression equipment, and spare parts.  CNGas is the exclusive distributor of leading CNG technology from world-renowned companies.

“While both of our companies are industry innovators,” added Jorge Herrera, CEO of Nopetro, “the clientele each company is pursuing compliments each other since Nopetro is looking at large commercial fleets, such as public buses, garbage trucks and school buses, while CNGas’s market is small to medium-sized commercial vehicles. We look forward to working collectively with CNGas to service all CNG vehicles, and ultimately develop a world- class network of fueling facilities for the County.”
Nopetro has solid prowess in developing and running a successful CNG fueling operation. The company currently owns and operates the most expansive, state-of-the-art, full-service CNG fueling facility on the East Coast, located in Tallahassee, Florida, which Nopetro built without any public sector funding as part of a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership with Leon County Public Schools, the City of Tallahassee, and Leon County. Also, Nopetro was recently awarded two other CNG fueling infrastructure projects, one for Osceola County and the other for the Charlotte County Public School District.
“We’re extremely proud of this new alliance,” adds CNGas CEO Charles Wainer.  “With the combined expertise and scope of both of our companies, we are confident that we will genuinely help further this emerging industry.”
