The Propane Education & Research Council will give Go Airport Express its Propane Autogas Fleet Award at the Green Fleet Conference for its low-emission, efficient shuttle operations

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) shared the green and economic benefits of propane autogas for vehicle fleets at the Green Fleet Conference & Expo at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. The highlight of the show was PERC's presenting Go Airport Express with its Propane Autogas Fleet Award. Go Airport Express operates 30 Roush CleanTech Ford E-350 propane-autogas-fueled vans between Chicago's downtown hotels and its airports, saving money on fuel and giving passengers green rides. Go Airport Express began as a carriage service in 1853.

"Go Airport Express is pleased to use propane autogas to fuel its vans," Robert Hann, vice president of marketing, Go Airport Express, said. "Propane autogas lowers our operating costs, emits fewer pollutants, and provides a great ride for our customers. Thank you, PERC, for honoring Go Airport Express with the Propane Autogas Fleet award."

Propane autogas vehicles emit up to 60 percent less carbon monoxide than gas-powered vehicles, while costing less to operate and providing the same horsepower, torque, towing, and range. And propane autogas fueling stations typically cost considerably less to install and operate than other alternative fuel stations and require minimal installation time. About 90 percent of all propane autogas consumed in the United States is made in America.

"Propane autogas is an ideal alternative fuel for fleet managers seeking to lower their refueling costs while also meeting their environmental goals," PERC President and CEO Roy Willis said.
