SkyBitz to offer enhanced enterprise mobility solution for transportation industry

Sept. 28, 2011
Integration of trailer tracking, cargo sensing data with TMW Systems software will be key

SkyBitz, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, has announced a trailer tracking development project with TMW Systems, the leading provider of enterprise transportation software.

The project will interface advanced trailer-asset management capabilities and data from SkyBitz with TMWSuire from TMW Systems.

This enterprise mobility solution will provide customers of both companies the ability to centrally monitor and track trailers in TMWSuite to gain real time operations information, trailer utilization and location.

The solution will utilize SkyBitz cargo sensor information to notify dispatchers of cargo status such as whether cargo is loaded in the trailer or unloaded, if the trailer door has been opened or closed, the location of trailers, if a trailer is in motion or stationary, among many other features.

“This move will help simplify and streamline processes for dispatchers and planners managing fleets,” said Siamak Azmoudeh, VP Channel Sales and Client Support, SkyBitz. “Our goal is to offer customers innovative and efficient solutions for their unique transportation asset management needs.”

The integrated trailer tracking and monitoring capability is expected to be ready for general availability within TMWSuite in the first half of 2012.

Currently, operations managers/dispatchers have to log into multiple applications, such as TMWSuite and SkyBitz InSight, to get trailer and dispatch information. After the integration, trailer status information will be easily available through TMWSuite user interface where it appears alongside other critical information.
