Avoid once-a-year customers

Oct. 4, 2017
Keep customers coming back on the truck by stocking spray gun accessories.

While replacement intervals for spray guns depends on use, and the care taken to keep the equipment clean, dry and lubricated throughout their lifespan, it is recommended to replace nozzle sets each year, or as needed, Sata's Director of Sales and Marketing Tony Larimer says.

But that doesn't necessarily make painters once-a-year customers for distributors.

To keep customers coming back throughout the year, Larimer recommends stocking accessories and other components, like disposable paint cups which attach to spray guns. For example, DeVilBiss DeKups, and Sata offers RPS (Rapid Preparation System) disposable cups.

"SATA RPS disposable cups have been growing impressively in sales each year," Larimer says. "Samples of these cups come with every SATA topcoat gun.  These single-use cups are a great sales advantage for dealers in order to get them [on the truck] each week."
