Application

The Dynorbital Extreme Combo Pack, No. X3161H, offers a dual purpose. The sanders assist technicians with stripping paint quickly and efficiently as well as finishing color and/or clear coats.

Origin

The company saw a growing need to replace manual labor-intensive practices, such as hand sanding and block sanding, that leave a straight scratch pattern which can be seen if not properly done. Tools with random orbital action significantly increase efficiency of the sanding process. The random orbital pattern left behind cannot be seen through paint.

Features and benefits

  • Able to accomplish aggressive sanding as well as end finish sanding.
  • Sanders come with weight-mated backing pads so there is less vibration and fatigue on operator’s hands and arms.

Selling points

  • The 3” sander has integrated speed control and is 35 percent lighter than the company’s 5” and 6” Extreme models.
  • The 6” sander is the highest power to weight ratio on the market. Speed control on this sander is achieved through a flow control valve on the back of the tool.
  • Both sanders have a 3/16” orbit and include hook-face pads.

Manufacturing/engineering specifications

The sanders are made in Dynabrade’s Clarence, N.Y. headquarters. They are comprised of composite and metal parts. The 3” sander has .1hp and the 6” sander has .3hp. Both offer a maximum rpm of 12,000. While the 6” requires 19 scfm or 2.7 cfm, the 3” requires 8 scfm or 1.12 cfm. The 3” sander weighs 1.17 lbs. The 6” sander weighs 1.88 lbs.

Storage and display

The sanders are individually secured in boxes with highly visible printing. Dynabrade offers point of purchase displays to help feature the product, if necessary. The combo pack contains both sanders: one X31 and one X61H.
