The right attitude can separate one dealer from the rest in a saturated market.

Steve Johnston is an independent dealer operating in Marshall County, Alabama. There are a number of dealers serving this region of Alabama, dealers representing all the flags and other independents, too, but Johnston enjoys a loyal following of customers.

"I have a lot of competition, but I have to look at it like I'm the competition - [other tool dealers] have to compete with me," Johnston says.
