Advance Auto Parts promotes Tammy Finley to EVP, HR

Advance Auto Parts announced that Tammy Finley has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel.

Advance Auto Parts today announced that Tammy Finley has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel.

In her new role, Finley will continue to lead Advance’s Human Resources strategies and functions. She will also assume responsibility for Legal, Risk Services and Government Affairs functions and will serve as Corporate Secretary for the organization. Finley will report to Darren Jackson, Chief Executive Officer, and will continue to be based in Roanoke, Va.

"I am excited to promote Tammy to Executive Vice President Human Resources and General Counsel," said Jackson. "Tammy’s leadership, track record of performance and breadth of experience in our Legal and Human Resource organizations is a proven asset to our team. Tammy has also played a significant role in the Roanoke community through Advance’s numerous charitable and business partnerships and will continue to do so going forward."

Finley joined Advance in 1998 and most recently served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, Employment Counsel and Government Affairs; Vice President, Staffing and Team Member Relations; and Assistant Vice President, Human Resources.

Prior to joining Advance, Finley was a labor and employment attorney with The Center for Employment Law, PC, and also served as a Staff Attorney with the Virginia Supreme Court. Finley received her law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. She received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech.

Finley serves on several community and professional boards, including the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the Taubman Museum of Art Board of Trustees and Executive Committee, the Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation Board of Directors, the Downtown Roanoke, Inc. Board of Directors and the Foundation for Roanoke Valley Board of Directors.
