Robert Bosch LLC, a global supplier of quality automotive parts to vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket, has implemented major design changes to its www.boschautoparts.com website. A new responsive design now makes it easier for users to search for, select and purchase Bosch products using either a desktop or mobile device. The new, redesigned website was launched on October 30, 2014.

“This initiative was driven mainly by a shift we saw in the marketplace. Our research and website analytics indicated that our customer base – including do-it-yourselfers (DIYers) and automotive service technicians – was more frequently utilizing a mobile device to search for the parts they needed and to make purchases,” said Jean Philippe “JP” Persico, Manager, Digital Innovation and Strategy, Bosch Aftermarket North America.

According to Persico, the Bosch design team worked diligently to develop a user-friendly experience to help the website user quickly search for and find the right part from among the hundreds of thousands of SKUs that are in the Bosch product database.

With the new design, users have the option of either browsing the parts catalog by category or identifying up to three different vehicles and searching all the Bosch parts offered for those specific vehicles. From either path, once a part is selected, the integrated where-to-buy function is just a single click away, further simplifying the purchasing process.

“To put it simply,” said Persico, “Bosch has significantly improved its user experience. The site is more intuitively structured, and everything that you can see on your desktop, you can now see on your mobile device. This responsive design creates the shortest journey to a potential purchase.”

Bosch vigilantly monitors the needs of the aftermarket to make sure it provides customers the best possible website experience. Those efforts were recently recognized by the Car Care Council Women’s Board when it awarded the redesigned Bosch website with the Automotive Communications Award for best B2B website at its awards ceremony that took place during the 2014 AAPEX Show in Las Vegas.
