The Makita Paddle Switch Angle Grinders with Non-Removable Guards, Nos. GA4553R and GA5053R, feature an 11A motor and deliver 11,000 rpm to handle high-demand applications. The GA4553R has a wheel diameter of 4-1/2" and the GA5053R has a 4-1/2" / 5" wheel diameter. Both grinders have a non-removable guard that can be quickly rotated for adjustment by the push of a lever. They also feature an anti-restart protection, an electronic feature engineered to prevent accidental motor start-up in the event that the grinder is left in the on-power switch position after a power disruption. For added durability, armature copper coils are epoxy-protected with a zig-zag pattern to protect against debris and to sufficiently dissipate heat to prevent overheating.
