A-Ratio Transmissions

The Eaton A-Ratio Transmissions have been added to the company’s line of UltraShift Plus automated transmissions. Designed for a range of applications, the Multipurpose Extreme Performance transmissions have low overall numerical ratios deliver better shift performance to improve grade shifting in mountainous conditions, according to the company. Also, when designed into the appropriate driveline, the 18-speed A-Ratio transmissions can allow for unlimited payloads. The transmissions use an electronic clutch actuator for faster shifting and smoother engagement. At idle the clutch fully engages, and shift selection software uses changes in grade, weight and throttle control to calculate the most efficient and effective shift points.
