ZF Aftermarket Announces New EV Repair Kits and Expanded Portfolio

At Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, ZF Aftermarket introduces its Maintain-Repair-Replace approach, offering workshops targeted component-level repair kits for electrified drivetrains, reducing complexity, and supporting EV lifecycle management.

Key Highlights

  • ZF Aftermarket advances its Maintain-Repair-Replace strategy with new targeted repair options for electrified drivetrains.
  • New repair solutions for e-motors, hybrid modules, inverters, mechatronics, and electric drive unit reducers revealed.
  • ZF’s overarching parts portfolio for electric vehicles covers 92 percent of Europe’s Top 20 EV parc, with expanded support for emerging vehicle brands planned from 2027.

At Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, ZF Aftermarket is underscoring how electric mobility can become more serviceable for the independent aftermarket. With its Maintain-Repair-Replace approach, the company is enabling workshops to carry out targeted component-level repairs on electrified drivetrains, while OE-quality remanufactured options are available when replacement is the more appropriate route. Together with a broad EV parts range covering approximately 92 percent of Europe’s Top 20 EV parc, ZF is helping workshops reduce complexity, avoid unnecessary full assembly replacement and support electrified vehicles throughout their lifecycle.

Backed by ZF’s experience of more than six million OEM electric motors produced, the new E-Mobility Repair Kit family brings OE-quality repair concepts to hybrid and fully electric powertrain applications. With more than 100 electric axle drive repair kit variants set to become available in the coming weeks, ZF is expanding workshops’ options for professional component-level repair.

Repair and Replace: Targeted Lifecycle Solutions

Each kit is tailored to a defined technical application and combines the relevant components needed for professional repair. This helps reduce ZF Friedrichshafen AG ZF Aftermarket Communications 97424 Schweinfurt  Deutschland · Germany press.zf.com PRESSE-INFORMATION PRESS RELEASE Page 2/5, 08 September, 2026 complexity, supports reliable repair decisions and closes a growing service gap as electrified vehicles age. Where repair is not technically or economically the right route, ZF’s remanufactured portfolio provides  OE-quality replacement options, with around 2,400 remanufactured transmission SKUs, including hybrids.

At Automechanika, ZF Aftermarket is presenting further additions to the EMobility Repair Kit range:

Repair Kit EM (Electric Motors)

For ZF Gen 2 hybrid modules in 8HP transmissions, the repair kit brings together rotor and stator assemblies in one electric motor package. End-of-line-tested components help restore hybrid transmission functionality while simplifying the repair process for workshops working on electrified drivetrain systems.

Repair Kit ME (Mechatronics)

For fourth-generation 8HP transmissions, ZF Aftermarket now offers OEquality remanufactured mechatronics as a targeted repair solution, expanding its remanufactured transmission portfolio to around 600 SKUs. Remanufactured using original processes, components, testing, and flashing, each unit is fully function-tested before delivery and helps workshops restore transmission functionality efficiently and with reduced downtime compared with a full transmission replacement.

Repair Kit IN (Inverters)

The inverter repair kit for fourth-generation 8HP hybrid transmissions offers an “all-in-one-box” solution for inverter-related failures. It supports targeted restoration of the power electronics responsible for converting DC current into AC current for electric motor control.

Repair Kit RD (Reducers)

ZF Friedrichshafen AG ZF Aftermarket Communications 97424 Schweinfurt  Deutschland · Germany press.zf.com PRESSE-INFORMATION PRESS RELEASE Page 3/5, 08 September, 2026 The Repair Kit RD for Electric Drive Unit Reducers addresses defined repair scenarios in electric drive applications where bearing components may be affected. By making the relevant bearing components available as part of a targeted repair solution, ZF supports workshops in restoring functionality without replacing complete drive units, wherever a component-level repair is technically appropriate.

“The new solutions are an important next step in our Maintain-Repair-Replace strategy for electrified drivetrains,” said Markus Wittig, Head of Business Line Passenger Cars at ZF Aftermarket. “They make repairability more accessible for workshops and show how ZF is transferring OE expertise into practical aftermarket solutions for e-motors, hybrid modules, inverters and mechatronics. Together with our remanufactured portfolio, this gives workshops more options to reduce downtime, use resources responsibly and support electrified vehicles throughout their service life.”

Strong EV Coverage Beyond the Powertrain

Beyond powertrain repair, ZF Aftermarket supports electric vehicles with a portfolio that covers approximately 92 percent of Europe’s Top 20 EV parc. The offering spans braking, steering and suspension, damping technologies, e-drive fluids, repair solutions and electrified powertrain applications, giving independent workshops access to the parts, training and technical know-how needed to service EVs professionally. This is complemented by initiatives such as the e-Power Expert program and the ZF [pro]Tech workshop concept, which provide high-voltage training, technical information and practical service support.

Supporting Workshops Navigate an Increasingly Diverse Vehicle Parc

ZF Aftermarket is also preparing for a more diverse European EV parc, as both established manufacturers and emerging vehicle brands expand their market presence. By the first quarter of 2027, its European catalogue offering for Chinese vehicle brands will include up to 200 references. By the end of 2027, ZF Aftermarket aims to cover ten of the most popular models from these manufacturers in Europe, reaching approximately 30 percent workshop demand coverage. Together with its OE expertise, remanufacturing capabilities, and targeted repair solutions, this expansion strengthens ZF’s role as a partner for workshops as electric mobility becomes a larger part of everyday service business.
