SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Hot Wheels has selected two vehicles coated with BASF automotive refinish paint for the Hot Wheels Design Awards at the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. The Hot Wheels Design Awards recognize vehicles that embody the essence of Hot Wheels, including speed, power, performance and attitude.

One of the award winning vehicles, Mike Terzich’s '67 Mustang (Copperback), was awarded Best Custom Car by Hot Wheels and was one of the feature vehicles in BASF’s booth during the SEMA show. The Mustang was painted with BASF’s Glasurit 55 Line.

The Hot Wheels Attitude Award was presented to Paul Sykora for his '37 Ford R-Window that was painted with BASF’s R-M line of paint. Hot Wheels will mass produce small-scale replicas of these vehicles in 2008.
