• City of Greensboro, NC adds two CNG recycling trucks to fleet

Two vehicles mark the first CNG units in Greensboro
    Aug. 15, 2012

Recycling trucks in Greensboro, N.C., have just become a quadruple threat. They use fuel that is 60 percent more economical than diesel, cut down on noise along routes and in neighborhoods, require less expensive and less frequent maintenance, and are helping to create hundreds of jobs throughout the state.

The two new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) recycling trucks in the City of Greensboro's fleet use a more environmentally clean fuel alterative and are much safer in the event of a spill. These two vehicles mark the first CNG units in Greensboro and help the city continue to move forward with its sustainability efforts.

After full implementation of the "Carolina Blue Skies and Green Jobs Initiative," it is anticipated that 3.7 million gallons of petroleum will be saved annually while 300+ jobs will be created and retained in North and South Carolina.
