This bulletin applies to 2015 and 2016 Honda Fit and 2016 HR-V vehicles. The charging system indicator may be on, with DTC P154A (battery sensor internal failure) set. Replace the battery sensor.
Turn the ignition to ON. Clear the DTC with the HDS and wait five seconds. If the DTC is indicated, turn the ignition to OFF. Disconnect the 12-volt battery sensor 3P connector. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2. If battery voltage is present, with the connector disconnected, remove the 12-volt battery sensor from the battery. Disconnect the terminal from the sensor. Install a new battery sensor to the 12-volt battery. Make sure that the areas between the negative terminal and the battery sensor are clean. To protect the connector from damage, do not hold it when removing the terminal. Connect the connector and apply multi-purpose grease to the terminals to prevent corrosion.
Make sure the ignition is in the OFF position before disconnecting the sensor and/or the negative terminal.
