Toyota Howl Quieted by Plugs

Some 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a whistling or howling noise from the front lower control arms at speeds of about 25-45 mph. The noise may be more noticeable when cross winds are present. 

Some 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a whistling or howling noise from the front lower control arms at speeds of about 25-45 mph. The noise may be more noticeable when cross winds are present.

Note that only three of the holes are to be plugged. Place a hole in each of the (1) holes. Leave the (2) holes open.

The fix involves installing plugs in the three 15mm holes in the arms. First verify by placing painter’s tape over the three holes in each arm, then test drive. If the noise is eliminated, install the Toyota hole plugs P/N 90950-01955.
