If you have a Honda Civic Hybrid that won’t move forward, rearward or both, check for grinding and clicking. The problem may be a disengaged driveshaft.

This can happen if the vehicle had earlier transmission or body shop work and the driveshaft was not properly reinstalled.

If the vehicle has VTM-4, power transmitted through the VTM-4 differential will allow it to move slowly for short distances. Check for damaged splines on the driveshaft and on the intermediate shaft (if applicable).

If the splines are OK, replace the set ring, re-engage the driveshaft and test drive.
