Chrysler left hand turn noises

March 25, 2011
The noise occurs when turning left at any speed and can include moans, honks or grinding noises

A 2007-2009 Chrysler Sebring, Avenger and 2009 Journey may experience power steering honk, moan or grinding sounds during left-hand turns, while accelerating or decelerating. The repair procedure involves replacing the power steering reservoir. The reservoir is P/N 05151028AA. A hand vacuum pump (C-4207A or equivalent) and power steering cap adapter (9688 or 9688A) are also required. Fill and bleed the system. If the vehicle still exhibits the problem, air may be present in the system. The power steering bleed procedure may need to be repeated several times.
