Here's what to do when your customer comes in with a rattle in the front suspension of a Nissan 2007-2008 Altima, 2008 Altima Coupe or 2007-2008 Maxima (all built between 7-16-07 to 9-29-07).

Loosen the front stabilizer connecting rod nuts. Using a backup wrench and a torque wrench, re-torque the nuts to a value of 58 ft.-lbs. (78.5 Nm).

NOTE: The stabilizer uses “pillow ball type” connecting rod ends. Position the ball joint so that the pillow ball head is parallel to the stabilizer (see Figure 1).

Test drive the vehicle to confirm that the noise issue is resolved.
