Mazda popsicle problem

Some 2008-2010 Mazda Tribute and Tribute Hybrid vehicles equipped with AWD may exhibit a vibration, rumble/groan, and/or excessive exhaust type noise. The concern is most noticeable after a cold start in ambient temperatures of approximately -15 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.

Some 2008-2010 Mazda Tribute and Tribute Hybrid vehicles equipped with AWD may exhibit a vibration, rumble/groan, and/or excessive exhaust type noise. The concern is most noticeable after a cold start in ambient temperatures of approximately –15 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. The noise will eventually diminish once the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. Revised exhaust hangers and a revised rear propeller shaft which are optimized for extreme cold ambient temperatures are now available to address this concern.

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Replace the rear propeller shaft assembly.
  3. Replace all five exhaust hangers.

Propeller shaft (gas 2.5L & 3.0L AWD)….….ZZ1A-25-100

Rubber hanger (five required)………………....ZZDB-40-061
