Pay Attention to Wheel Nuts

When servicing 2012 and earlier GM vehicles that feature stainless steel-clad wheel nuts, using a shallow socket wrench can easily deform or crack that stainless steel cover.

If the wheel nuts appear to be clad in stainless steel, be sure to use only a 6-point deepwell socket wrench that provides full depth contact with the nut.

This may sound elementary, but paying attention to this can avoid needless cost for the shop by having to replace the wheel nuts and preventing an unhappy customer.
