Mazda drone
Some 2009-2011 Mazda Tribute vehicles may exhibit a drone/moan or rattle noise at 28 to 38 mph with engine speed at 1,300 to 1,400 rpm. The noise may occur under light throttle, driving up a slight incline and/or in 5th gear.
Torsional engine pulses may cause front end accessory drive resonation. The noise may be present with the A/C on or off but is typically aggravated when the A/C compressor cycles on.
If this condition is diagnosed, install alternator pulley kit ZZCO-24-530, following instructions provided with the pulley kit.
