This TSB applies to 2009-2010 Acura TL models. The MIL may illuminate with DTC P2118 stored (throttle actuator current range/performance problem).
The PCM misinterprets ETCS (electronic throttle control system) inputs as a malfunction. The corrective action requires updating the PGM-Fl software with the HDS, using HDS software version2.022.104 or later.
The updated PGM-Fi software program IDs and P/Ns are shown below. If the HDS is loaded with the latest software, and it displays No Update Needed during the update, the software for this bulletin is already installed.

- Update the PGM-Fi software with the HDS.
- Start the engine. If DTC P2118 does not display, the repair is complete. If this DTC does reset, continue with normal troubleshooting.
