DTC with brake pad change

This bulletin applies to 2006-2007 Lexus GS 430 and RX 400h vehicles. When replacing brake pads on an ECB (electronically controlled brake) system equipped vehicle, retracting the caliper’s piston and installing new brake pads may cause DTCs to be set the next time the brake pedal is depressed.

This bulletin applies to 2006-2007 Lexus GS 430 and RX 400h vehicles. When replacing brake pads on an ECB (electronically controlled brake) system equipped vehicle, retracting the caliper’s piston and installing new brake pads may cause DTCs to be set the next time the brake pedal is depressed.

If a DTC in the following table is present, proceed to Step 2. If a DTC other than the ones listed here is present, proceed with normal diagnostics.

C1341…………………Front hydraulic system RH malfunction

C1342…………………Front hydraulic system LH malfunction

C1343…………………Rear hydraulic system RH malfunction

C1344…………………Rear hydraulic system LH malfunction

Using the diagnostic tester, clear the DTC.Test drive the vehicle. If the DTC does not return, the repair is complete. If the DTC returns, perform diagnosis as described in the repair manual.
