Engines produced from June 11, 2007, have been built according to the new design. Service parts have also been superceded to the new type. When installing a new cylinder head on a vehicle that originally featured an accumulator, do not reinstall the accumulator.

Applicable vehicles include 2003-2006 Outlander, 2004-2006 Lancer and Lancer Sportback, 2004-2007 Galant, 2006-2008 Eclipse and 2007-2008 Eclipse Spyder.
