O2 Sensor Codes Require Relearn?

Some 2009-2010 Ford F-150 vehicles equipped with a 4.6L or 5.4L engine may exhibit a MIL on with DTC P0130 (oxygen sensor circuit bank 1, sensor 1) or P0150 (oxygen sensor circuit bank 2, sensor 1).

Retrieve all DTCs in the PCM. If either or both of these two codes are present, reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 78.01 and higher. Calibration files may be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.

Advise the customer that the truck is equipped with an adaptive transmission shift strategy which allows the computer to learn the transmission’s unique parameters to improve shift quality. The relearning process may result in firmer-than-normal shifts for several days.
