Owners of 2014 Chevy Equinox vehicles may experience a noise or a fluid leak from the power steering pump, gear or high pressure side power steering hose during extreme low outdoor temperature operation.

During extremely low temperatures of -22 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, the power steering fluid may thicken and power steering system pressures may rise, causing noise or potential damage to power steering system components.

To resolve the condition, first replace any damaged components, flush the power steering system, and refill with Cold Climate power steering fluid.

The Cold Climate power steering fluid is available as P/N 12345866 (10953484 in Canada) for a 16-oz. bottle; or 12345867 (10953471 Canada) for a 32-oz. bottle.
