Hyundai field coil

For the Hyundai models in the following list, this TSB provides an additional A/C compressor field coil specification that may not be listed in the shop manual.

2001-2012 Santa Fe

PART SPECIFICATION

Field coil resistance should be 3 – 4 ohm.

Measure between the field coil connector and the compressor housing ground using a DVOM. If the field coil is out of specification, replace it, following the applicable shop manual procedure.

NOTE: Some newer models (not listed above) may be equipped with A/C compressors that do not use a field coil due to a clutchless design. For these models, the field coil resistance check is not applicable.
