Some 2010 – 2012 Ford E-Series, F-150, Expedition and F-Super Duty, and 2010-2011 Ranger vehicles, or 2010-2012 Lincoln Navigator equipped with the 4.6L, 5.0L, 5.4L, 6.2L or 6.8L engines may exhibit DTCs P2270 or P2272.

Using the integrated diagnostic system (IDS) scan tool or equivalent, retrieve all continuous memory DTCs. If either of these DTCs are present, proceed to Step 2.
Replace only the affected Catalyst Monitor Sensor as indicated by the DTC observed (P2270 – Bank 1; or P2272 – Bank 2). Refer to the workshop manual, section 303-14.
