Nissan: You break it, you bought it

Damage to the plastic engine cover is very likely if the cover is not removed correctly from 2004-2010 Nissan Titan, Armada or Pathfinder vehicles equipped with the V8 engine.

Damage to the plastic engine cover is very likely if the cover is not removed correctly from 2004-2010 Nissan Titan, Armada or Pathfinder vehicles equipped with the V8 engine.

If you pull up on the front of the engine cover, it will break and damage the cover near the locating studs.

  1. Remove the two bolts at the front of the cover.
  2. Pull up/lift one side near the rear of the cover. A small amount of force will be needed to pop loose the locating stud.
  3. Pull up/lift the opposite rear side in the same manner.

 This seems like a simple concern, but damaging the cover will cost the shop needlessly.
