Rusty Caddy

Owners of some 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS and 2000-2005 DeVille vehicles may complain about corrosion in the floor pan in the battery area. This condition may be caused by acid weeping from a battery vent tube that has become dislodged.

Cadillac now offers a floor pan repair kit that includes a replacement section of the floor pan. The GM Metal Bonding Adhesive must be used for the replacement procedure.

The “Panel Kit – Floor Pan Repair” is available under part number 88948594. The GM Metal Bonding Adhesive is available under part number 12378567 (U.S) or 88901675 (Canada). If a battery hold down replacement is also needed, the part number is 25794667.

NOTE: The same repair kit also applies to 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2003 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2000-2005 Pontiac Bonneville models.
