If an owner of a 2012 Fiat 500 complains of a clicking or clunking noise when opening/closing the right or left door, this may be due to an under-torqued or loose door check strap bolt.

Inspect both door strap bolts for looseness. If loose, remove the door check strap bolt and apply Mopar Lock and Seal Adhesive (P/N 04318031) to the bolt threads.

Reinstall the bolt(s) and tighten to a value of 18 ft.-lbs.
