Some 2009 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner vehicles equipped with the 6F35 automatic transmission and built before 10-29-08 may exhibit a loss of transmission fluid from the dipstick tube area.

Some 2009 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner vehicles equipped with the 6F35 automatic transmission and built before 10-29-08 may exhibit a loss of transmission fluid from the dipstick tube area.

This may be due to an overfill condition. A new transmission dipstick with added minimum and maximum lines is now available to easily determine proper fluid level.

If the vehicle was built before 10-29-08, and if the dipstick does not feature minimum and maximum lines indicated, replace the dipstick with P/N 7A020.
