When checking the transmission fluid level, be sure to install a retaining pin in the thermostat cap. This will open the cooling loop and allow for accurate transmission fluid level measurement. Failure to perform this step will result in incorrect transmission fluid level and may cause shifting issues. Push the shaft down with a screwdriver by 5.5 – 7.0 mm, until the screwdriver contacts the step inside the cap, and insert a pin fully through the side hole. Remember to remove the retaining pin after checking fluid level.
