SAA, Waymo to host webinar

The webinar will discuss how Waymo is building an experienced driver, which includes advanced hardware and software.

The Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA) and Waymo will host a webinar titled, “How Waymo is Building the World’s Most Experienced Driver,” June 17, 11 AM – 12 PM EST. Patrick Cadariu will discuss how Waymo is building the world’s most experienced driver, the Waymo Driver, which includes state-of-the-art hardware and advanced software integrated as a seamless, single system into their vehicles at the Waymo Detroit assembly facility.

The Waymo Driver can power multiple vehicle platforms, from minivans and SUVs to Class 8 trucks, and is currently applied across two key business lines: Waymo One, a commercial self-driving service, and Waymo Via, which is focused on all forms of goods delivery, including trucking and local delivery. Cadariu will share the latest with both applications, explain how Waymo is pursuing them in partnership with the existing automotive ecosystem, and answer questions following the presentation.

Cadariu is the head of vehicle and trucking supply chain operations and supplier partnerships at Waymo. Cadariu oversees supply chain and manufacturing for Waymo’s vehicle and trucking programs, manages Tier-1 partnerships, and leads Waymo’s Detroit facility, a factory 100 percent dedicated to the mass production of L4 autonomous vehicles. As a leader at Waymo, he gets to work every day with incredible people that are passionate about building the world’s most experienced driver.

Cadariu has more than 15 years of experience helping build businesses, organizations, factories, products, and teams. Prior to joining Waymo, Cadariu held a number of global leadership roles in the consumer electronics and automotive industries, including Apple where he led teams supporting the iPhone and Apple Watch with responsibilities covering commercial, supply, and operational activities. Cadariu also spent three years on an international assignment in China designing supply chains, developing operational capabilities, and scaling manufacturing. Cadariu started his career in the automotive industry at Visteon.
