NACE Automechanika Chicago anticipates 10,000 attendees
NACE Automechanika Chicago, the largest U.S. trade show dedicated to high-end technical and management-related training for automotive collision and service repair shops, will present in-depth, practical automotive training July 26-29, 2017 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL.
As a part of the Automotive Service and Collision Repair Week, NACE Automechanika opens with educational opportunities. The event brings together live demonstrations of the latest automotive technologies from more than 500 exhibitors, show floor training and roundtable discussions from co-located groups and the opportunity to learn from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Courses feature a variety of CEU credits, including those from the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) and Automotive Management Institute (AMi).
"This year's training lineup covers the current topics automotive professionals are seeking out, including a number of collision-focused trends like vehicle scanning and shop efficiencies," said Jeff Peevy, president, AMi. "I also am thrilled to have more than 40 courses offering AMi credits that meet in-person elective training requirements for our various certificates and professional designations."
Attendees can participate in forums across all three sectors of the industry including collision repair, distribution and service/mechanical repair. NACE Automechanika Chicago is currently the only known trade show in the industry to offer free Service/Mechanical Repair training, according to NACE.

- Effective Succession Planning for Secure Retirement with Matt Winslow, Automotive Training Institute (ATI), educates attendees on the one thing owners fail to work on: what to do with their business when they're ready to step away.
- Elevating Service Excellence and How Productivity Mathematics Measures Service Results with Bob Greenwood, Automotive Aftermarket E-Learning Centre Ltd. (AAEC), the go-to business mathematician in the aftermarket, to explain the numbers every shop must track.
- Omnichannel Marketing: Tapping Into Your Customer's Journey with trusted industry advisor Danny Sanchez, Autoshop Solutions, to discuss new ways to market a repair shop and make sure customers find them first, a reoccurring issue in the industry.
- Mastering Fuel System Diagnostics with John Thornton, Autotrain, Inc., is a highly anticipated course this summer. Thornton is one of the most sought after trainers in the Chicago area, and his methods of breaking down information are easy to understand for all automotive technicians.
- How to Improve Gross Profit Through Estimating with Mike Anderson, CollisionAdvice, explains to auto body shop managers how they can develop better processes and allows them to learn from the most recognized name in the collision repair industry in Anderson.
"Nowhere in the industry will you find a better line up of training, or selection of current topics that offer professionals one-stop, shop-level training in North America," said Peter Meier, director of training, NACE Automechanika. "In 2015, more than 2,000 automotive professionals were trained by industry leaders at Automechanika Chicago. The message that we heard following the show was that: 'We want more training.'"
Students can visit the career fair, attend training for free, and network at the 'Tailgate Party' on July 28, which is designated Student Day. Schools are also welcome to take advantage of this event as a platform to recruit professionals looking for a continuing education program.
With an anticipated 10,000 attendees, NACE Automechanika Chicago is "set to lead the industry" in education and training covering the entire spectrum of the automotive aftermarket industry, the company says.
