In this Motor Age Tech Tip Short, Erik Screeden breaks down a common point of confusion for technicians: the difference between a battery’s state of charge and its state of health. Using clear examples, he explains how automotive battery testing reveals not just how full a battery is, but how well it can hold and deliver power compared to when it was new. He also covers how sulfation in batteries, heat, vibration and age contribute to declining performance and why overlooking batteries often leads to starting and charging system issues.
Watch the full tech tip short to learn why checking both battery state of health and state of charge is a must in today’s high-demand vehicles. For more information, visit www.autozonepro.com/propower-batteries.
