Ford recalls 2011 E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vehicles

Jan. 20, 2014
Windshields can form bubbles, hindering driver visibility.

Ford Motor Co. is recalling certain model year 2011 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, and E-450 vehicles built from May 12, 2011, through May 26, 2011, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Due to improper manufacturing conditions, some of the windshields may form bubbles after an extended time in hot temperatures. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205, "Glazing Materials."
The presence of bubbles may hinder driver's visibility thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the windshield if bubbles are present, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or about, Jan. 27, 2014. Owners may contact the Ford customer relationship center at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall campaign number is 11C20.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
