Eaton names John Beering Senior Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Vehicle Transmission Business

Beering, most recently vice president and general manager for Eaton’s Global Vehicle Group Aftermarket and Clutch business, will continue to be based in Galesburg, Mich. and serve in a dual role until a successor for his previous position is identified.

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that John Beering has been named senior vice president and general manager - Commercial Vehicle Transmission business, reporting to Tim Sinden, president – North America Truck Operations, effective January 1, 2013. Beering, most recently vice president and general manager for Eaton's Global Vehicle Group Aftermarket and Clutch business, will continue to be based in Galesburg, Mich. and serve in a dual role until a successor for his previous position is identified.

"John's success in key roles at Eaton along with his extensive experience in the commercial vehicle market makes him the ideal person to lead our Commercial Vehicle Transmission business," said Sinden. "We are pleased to have John's talent and enthusiasm as we continue to grow in this important segment of our business."  

Beering joined Eaton in 2006 as director of global marketing for the Eaton Truck Group. Prior to joining Eaton, Beering worked at United Technologies Corporation (UTC) where his last assignment was as director of marketing for Pratt & Whitney's Large Commercial Engines and Service Business. He held positions of increasing responsibility with UTC at Pratt & Whitney and Carrier Corporation in manufacturing, engineering, program management and sales and marketing.

Beering earned a master's of science from Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Management, and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
