National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes tail pipe may separate from rear muffler.

Porsche has recalled 2,263 Carrera vehicles. The recall affects the vehicles manufactured between March 7, 2012 and Nov. 12, 2012 that are with the standard exhaust system, while the vehicles with a port exhaust system are excluded from the recall.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the tail pipe in the vehicles may separate from the rear muffler leading to road hazard and the risk of a crash.

The defect was identified by the company in its test vehicles that had covered distance of 25,000miles, which was also noticed in the Carrera's exhaust system.

In December 2012, the company had recalled 455 units of GT3 Sports cars manufactured from 15 May 2009 to 11 Feb 2010, due to a problem in the rear wheel hub.
