General Motors is recalling more than 68,000 new SUVs, pickups and vans that could roll away after being parked, the Detroit News reported.

The paper reported that the company is recalling the 2013 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT; Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado HD, Silverado LD, Suburban and Tahoe; and GMC Savana, Sierra HD, Sierra LD, Yukon and Yukon XL because they may not meet a federal requirement on transmission shift interlocks.

The recall includes 54,686 in the United States and 6,310 in Canada. The recall also includes 710 in Mexico and 7,038 trucks to oversees markets, primarily the Middle East.

No crashes or injuries have been reported.

The company reportedly said the vehicles may have been built with a fractured park lock cable and a malformed steering column lock part in the lock module assembly.

The company reportedly noted that the key may be rotated to the off position and removed while the shifter is not in the park position, and the vehicle could roll away after the driver has exited the vehicle, resulting in a possible crash without prior warning. The transmission can also be shifted out of park without application of the brake pedal while the key is in the off position.

All of the recalled vehicles were built between November and December 2012.
