Advance Auto Parts Recognized for Excellence in Training and Education

Advance Auto Parts, Inc., the largest automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, was recognized in 2014 for the Company’s commitment to Team Member and industry training and education. Advance is the 2014 recipient of the following automotive industry awards.

Advance Auto Parts, Inc., the largest automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, was recognized in 2014 for the Company’s commitment to Team Member and industry training and education. Advance is the 2014 recipient of the following automotive industry awards:

· AAIA Head of the Class Award – the Auto Care Association Education Committee awarded Advance one of eight prestigious Head of Class Awards for continually investing in the quality and level of skill development offered to its Team Members

· Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award – Northwood University recognized Advance CEO Darren Jackson for his leadership in supporting educational opportunities both within and outside the automotive aftermarket. Advance participates in the Corporate Work Study Program, which provides students with real-world work experience and underwrites education costs. An awards luncheon will be hosted during the 2014 AAPEX Show on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Venetian Hotel, Casanova Room 506-507

· Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) National Excellence in Training Award – CARQUEST Technical Institute (CTI) in conjunction with Bridgestone were recognized in 2014 for their innovative automotive industry training program, The Logical Troubleshooting Process. An awards ceremony will take place during the 2014 AAPEX Show on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. at the Venetian Hotel, Casanova Room 506-507.

Advance serves commercial customers’ needs with more than 10,000 ASE-certified parts specialists. In 2014, Advance added additional staff to its education and training team, constructed a training center at Company headquarters and implemented new training initiatives. Managers participate in new onboarding and immersion programs that emphasize best practices, team leadership and operational processes.  Advance also introduced a video-based Automotive Systems Training Curriculum to teach safety, parts identification, common repair problems and important automotive systems.

Advance has dedicated training programs targeted to its Commercial Team Members, including sales process training and onboarding programs for Commercial Account Managers, Commercial Sales Managers and Commercial Customer Representatives.
