Shop safety, lift performance and complete lift inspection compliance is more than just the sticker

Sept. 27, 2017
Lift inspection software programs can aid shops and lift inspectors with streamlining lift safety and compliance.

Annual vehicle lift inspections are required by health and safety officials, local regulations and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Standards covering vehicle lift operation, inspection, maintenance and repair.

Common OSHA citations related to lift safety cite lift operators for not using safety locks and lift owners for not providing documented programs for operator training, periodic inspections, planned maintenance and repair maintenance.  Many other citations refer to general shop safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) used by employees.

One way to help avoid OSHA citations related to lift safety is to utilize electronic forms software solutions with automated workflows, such as the Lift-Connect Pro Inspection Software and Quick Access. It is a software program for vehicle shops that provides lift owners with an integrated, online, transparent program to facilitate compliance with lift-related OSHA required ANSI/ALI ALOIM:2008 (R2013), Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance, documentation requirements.

Oversight

Lift-Connect PRO Quick Access (LCP Quick Access) streamlines ANSI/ALI ALOIM: 2008 (R2013) documentation requirements. The LCP Quick Access lift card works with LIFT-Connect Pro Online to allow lift operators to quickly scan QR codes to perform tasks required by the standard.

The software program also allows for immediate and continuous shop manager and owner oversight by scanning the Lift Status QR Code to view any lift’s Online Compliance dashboard. This online access to all lift information relating to compliance, training, maintenance, repair and service allows for detailed and accountable measurement of the overall lift program effectiveness.

In addition, LCP Quick Access provides essential tools and information for better task management and ongoing lift program improvement, keeping all stakeholders working together as a team.

Reduced paperwork

Designed specifically for the lift inspector, Lift-Connect Pro Inspector (LCP Inspector) allows for a streamlined Standard Required Automotive Inspection Process using a proprietary online, paperless, trackable and transparent inspection program.

All information and results are available for the lift owner for review and provide electronic approval, allowing for a more cost effective and efficient communication between inspectors, managers and owners throughout the inspection process. Plus, it simplifies and streamlines lift inspection and standard compliance.

Paperwork is now replaced by online reports accessible from any mobile device.

Information from the LCP Inspector software becomes a powerful lift management tool when paired with the optional LCP Quick Access software for lift owners. Improved efficiencies, safety and cost savings result from tasks that are automatically created from lift inspection failures. The lift owner is guided online each step of the way through actions taken for standard compliance corrections.
