The staff and contributors of MACS ACTION magazine and MACS Service Reports have been honored with six awards for their work during 2011, by the 21st International Automotive Media Competition. The 2012 award winners were chosen for works of automotive journalism published or aired in calendar year 2011.
MACS works honored for editorial excellence are: A gold award to Paul DeGuiseppi for his commentary, "Guess who came to dinner" in the May, '11 issue; gold to Elvis Hoffpauir for the editorial "Old friends, new faces" in his Last Watch column, March-April '11; gold to Jim Taylor for his regular column "Expansion Valve" throughout the year, and a gold to MACS technical correspondent Paul Weissler for the February, 2011 MACS Service Reports, "Compressors without pistons."
Other awards include a silver medal for environmental coverage to regular columnist Ken Newton for "Australia's carbon tax" in the June '11 issue and a bronze award for business writing to MACS Chairman Andy Fiffick for his Outlook column "Risk Factors" in the September-October 2011 issue.
"We value the insight provided by MACS editors and contributors," said MACS President and Editor in chief Elvis Hoffpauir. "We are gratified to see their talents recognized through these prestigious awards."
MACS ACTION magazine has been honored for editorial excellence 60 times since its debut in 2001.
