AXN Heavy Duty announces launch of MARS suspension platform

June 12, 2012
Launch plan includes initial availability of the MARS-23 in June, with releases of the 25K, 30K, and 20K versions to follow.

Commercial vehicle solution provider, AXN Heavy Duty, has announced the launch of its new line of Modular Air Ride Suspension (MARS), in partnership with its European partner, VDL Weweler.

The new line of lightweight air suspensions features a smooth ride, low cost of ownership, and promotes a patented 'weldless' axle connection that uses formed retention grooves on the axle.  "Not only have we been able to develop a non-integrated, lightweight design, but we have eliminated all suspension-to-axle welds," said Steve Miller, VP of Engineering at AXN. "The result is an easier installation for the OEM, plus easier and less expensive to service by the fleet, should an axle need to be replaced."

"Our partnership with VDL Weweler has great synergy," said Jeff Hyatt, VP of Sales at AXN.   "They are well established and have a great track record. AXN and Weweler will be able to provide a full line that delivers a proven product that is tailored for our North American market."

The launch plan includes initial availability of the MARS-23 in June, with releases of the 25K, 30K, and 20K versions to follow.  A slider mounted tandem for vans and reefers will be available by the end of 2012.
