Q: How did the tool/equipment function as far as saving you time?
A: Great set, the advantage of having varying length bits is a real asset. The sheer quantity of bits saves time by not having to chase down different bit types; they are all in one set!
Q: What kind of setup was involved before using the product?
A: Minimal setup — open the case, select whatever bit you need, and use it.
Q: How easy was it to use?
A: These are conventional 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive socket bits, so they are very familiar and easy to implement.
Q: How was its packaging? Did it come with any accessories?
A: Professionally boxed, and a hard plastic molded case is included. The bits all snap into a slot designed specifically for that bit. This helps with keeping track of all the bits, which would be overwhelming without the well-laid-out case.
Q: What features did you like?
A: There is a lot to like about this toolkit. The sheer number of bits is crazy good. The kit is very encompassing as far as bit type goes, a good mix of Allen, Torx, inverted Torx, and triple square. The case is a really well-thought-out case. I would have predicted a kit this large to have a significantly larger case; this case is so well planned that it has little to no wasted space. It will take me years to know for sure that these will last, but all the bits I used fit the fastener they were used on correctly. I'm optimistic that these will last.
Q: Is there any way you could think of to improve or add to this tool?
A: Using a bit design that allows bits to be removed from the socket to accommodate low clearance areas would be beneficial. Also, make these impact-rated, or offer an impact-rated variant.
Q: What types of jobs/repairs did you use this tool for? Please provide a few specific examples.
A: A coil replacement on a 2005 Saturn Vue. I also used a bunch of these bits during a Tesla large drive unit rebuild.
Q: How does this tool compare to other tools you've used like it?
A: I have used similar socket-driven bits from various manufacturers over the years. The Carbyne bits seem to be of a similar quality to other brand-name bits, but at a significant discount. There is a question of long-term durability, but on initial inspection and use, these seem to be of very good quality. This socket bit set is the largest kit I have ever owned. It is really great to have so many options in one case.
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this tool overall? Why?
A: A 9.3 — This is a great socket-based bit set. The tools seem accurately made with a mind towards being a viable option for tool truck-grade socket bits.
