Toyota is recalling certain 2013-2018 RAV4 vehicles.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain replacement 12V batteries may not fit properly in the battery tray. This may cause the battery to move and contact the hold-down bracket which could potentially cause a short circuit.

To remedy the situation, dealers will replace the battery clamp sub-assembly, battery tray, and positive terminal cover at no charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 17, 2023. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's recall number for this are 23TB13 and 23TA13.

To check to see if your vehicle has an open recall, visit NHTSA's website and enter the vehicle's 17-digit vehicle identification number.
