ASE Education Foundation Releases Its 2025 Annual Report
ASE Education Foundation Reports Record Reach in 2025 Annual Report, Highlights Progress in Addressing Technician Shortage
More than 125,000 students enrolled in accredited programs; Foundation expands partnerships, competitions, and career pathways
The ASE Education Foundation has released its 2025 Annual Report, documenting a year of expanded reach, new industry partnerships, and continued progress in building a pipeline of skilled automotive, collision, and medium/heavy truck technicians across the nation.
The report, titled "Setting the Standard for Tomorrow's Technicians," is available at the ASE Education Foundation website. Below are a few key highlights from the survey.
Foundation by the Numbers
According to the report, 125,297 students are enrolled in ASE-accredited programs at 1,812 training programs nationwide. Of those students, 76,106 are enrolled at the high school level and 49,191 at the college level. During the 2024-25 school year, 1,949 schools across all 51 states and territories participated in the Foundation's entry-level programs, with 50,249 students earning ASE entry-level certifications.
Instructor Training Conference
In July 2025, 265 instructors representing more than 3,130 combined years of teaching experience gathered in St. Louis for the ASE Instructor Training Conference. Attendees received 4,802 total hours of training delivered across 112 sessions, supported by 34 sponsors and 60 contributing companies.
Student Survey Highlights
The 2025 student survey found that ASE-accredited programs outperformed non-accredited programs in student satisfaction, with a promoter score of 53% versus 20% for non-accredited programs. The survey also found that while 74% of underclassmen plan to continue in their programs, only 42% of seniors intend to work in the industry or continue transportation studies — a finding the Foundation says underscores the need for more entry-level job opportunities to retain students.
