The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) formalized its long-standing cooperative relationship with the Auto Care Association.

The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) formalized its long-standing cooperative relationship with the Auto Care Association.

Heads of these leading auto aftermarket associations finalized discussions and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Australian industry pavilion during the Automechanika Frankfurt exhibition in September.

AAAA Executive Director Stuart Charity said this MOU formalizes the already strong relationship between the AAAA and the Auto Care Association.

“Our members will benefit through improved access to market research, education and technology initiatives by the highly professional team at the Auto Care Association,” said Charity. “In addition, the MOU will deliver streamlined registration to the premier aftermarket products exhibition in the USA – the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) to be held in Las Vegas from November 4 to 7, 2014.

“Our entire industry will benefit from the information sharing and support we receive from the Auto Care Association. Our close relationship has been valuable for the AAAA industry advocacy activities covering vehicle data sharing, warranties, telematics and the connected car.

“The automotive industry is global. It is essential that industry associations around the world work collaboratively to ensure a continuing bright future for the aftermarket sector,” said Charity.

Collaborate on common goals

The MOU provides a broad framework for cooperation between the AAAA and the Auto Care Association and formalizes cross promotional commitments for the 2014 AAPEX Show in the U.S. and the 2015 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo to be held in Melbourne from April 16 t0 18.

The parties agree to promote international trade and investment between AAAA and Auto Care Association members, and build awareness of each other’s markets through education initiatives.

This includes continuing to work together toward common goals, such as exchanging information about activities and issues of mutual interest through attendance at trade shows, international delegations, and fostering communication between each organization’s staff and members.
