Philips Automotive Lighting North America is focused on providing not just high-quality lighting products, but also products are that are environmentally friendly. "We want to produce not just a better product, but a greener, sustainable product," says Michael Scheiven, director of the aftermarket channel for Philips. Philips has made it part of its company mission to reduce energy consumption in its products, its manufacturing methods, and its packaging. The company makes cadmium, mercury and lead-free products, and recycles materials. Scheiven was on hand at the AAPEX show in Las Vegas, where earlier this week Philips and Federal-Mogul announced a new collaborative agreement to bring a "Total Category" lighting offering to the North American aftermarket. Philips CrystalVision Ultra and NightGuide products will be offered in conjunction with Federal-Mogul's Wagner Lighting brand. "We have proven we have a winning product range," says Scheiven. "The key is to have effective national distribution.' Philips also introduced the new X-treme Power high-performance headlamp bulbs that allow drivers to replace standard halogen headlamp capsules with a bulb that produces up to 80% more light. Also on display were the Philips CrystalVision Ultra bulbs, which deliver an even whiter color and brighter beam than the original CrystalVision bulbs. Both bulbs are DOT compliant. |
