New Pro-Cut Training for Toyota Service Providers
Pro-Cut, in collaboration with Toyota, has launched an industry-leading brake service training program designed for Toyota and Lexus service providers. The initiative integrates the Pro-Cut X15 rotor matching system to provide technicians with expert instruction on precision brake service.
“Toyota is known globally for its commitment to quality and innovation, and we are proud to see that philosophy extend to their service training,” said Jeff Hastings, president of Pro-Cut. “By incorporating Pro-Cut X15 technology into their training program, Toyota is equipping its technicians with the tools and knowledge to deliver best-in-class brake service.”
Program Implementation and Technology
The program rollout is supported by more than 40 Pro-Cut X15 brake lathes stationed at Toyota North American training centers. This setup ensures that technicians gain direct, hands-on experience with the rotor matching technology.
The initiative aims to help Toyota dealerships deliver the specific rotor matching services outlined in warranty service bulletins, which is expected to improve:
- Brake service quality
- Customer satisfaction
- Warranty performance
The Pro-Cut X15 on-car brake lathe is the first system of its kind driven by a 48V DC motor, which allows for tighter run-out tolerances and superior surface finishes. Its computer system also features disc tracking, variable speed control, and maintenance alerts.
Industry Impact
Pro-Cut’s rotor matching systems are currently recommended or mandated for warranty service by nearly every major automotive manufacturer in the U.S..
“The company looks forward to working with additional OEMs to develop similar training partnerships that improve brake service consistency while managing warranty service costs,” Hastings added.
